Of the 76 studios listed below, 58 rent out their studios and offer technical assistance and/or pulp preparation. We polled the studios to see if they offer additionally residencies (no fee to the artist or artist receives a fee), workshops, internships, work-exchange, private consultation, and other services. A detailed table—noting comprehensive information about each studio, including contact information, website URL, services rendered, and studio description— is available on Hand Papermaking's website at www.handpapermaking .org/magazine. The table is also accessible on IAPMA's website at www.iapma .info. Perhaps you will find a place on the list close to home that you were not aware of before, or you might be inspired to go some place new to refresh, take advantage of other perspectives, enjoy shop talk, and benefit from the exchange of ideas and techniques that always seems to take place when paper people come together. Forty-two of the studios below offer accommodations or will help find a local B&B so you can make it your next working holiday. The list is organized by geographical location, then by country, generally in alphabetical order. For the United States, we broke down the list regionally, then in zip code order. All respondents completed the questionnaire in English, so we can assume that all of the studios on the list are comfortable communicating in English. Again, we acknowledge that this list is far from exhaustive, and we truly hope to hear from those whom we inadvertently overlooked. And perhaps there are readers with wonderful studios who will be inspired to add their names to the Papermaking Studio Access Guide.
