For 2024, we are excited to offer two special tokens of appreciation to thank you for your support:
● For donations of $100 or more: Receive a limited-edition keepsake celebrating the first hand papermaking mill established in British North America in 1690. Produced in 2022 by Robert Hauser of Busyhaus Publications, this handsome collection includes a handmade sheet featuring historic watermarks, a wood engraving print on vintage handmade Twinrocker paper, and a handmade paper specimen made at the Historic Rittenhouse Town Papermaking Studio in Philadelphia.
● For donations of $175 or more: Receive an exclusive broadside (your choice!) from the Hand Papermaking archive. Please see our online catalog here
● For donations of $250 or more: Receive both a Rittenhouse Keepsake and an exclusive broadside from the Hand Papermaking archive.
Hand Papermaking’s Handmade Paper Portfolios are themed collections of handmade papers, housed in a clothbound portfolio box, prized in personal and institutional collections, and enjoyed by a wide audience through traveling exhibitions. Most importantly, they provide an archival record, showcasing the amazing work being done in our time by some 200 leading paper artists.
The Hand Papermaking Portfolio Archive Fund ensures access to these exceptional portfolios by setting aside 10% of each portfolio edition for placement in public collections and teaching institutions worldwide. Tax-deductible contributions to the Portfolio Archive Fund help share these cultural treasures long into the future. Any amount is greatly appreciated! Donations at $500 or more will be specially recognized in an archived portfolio—a bookplate adhered to the clamshell box will read “Gifted to XYZ Library by Hand Papermaking with the support of YOUR NAME and contributors to the Hand Papermaking Portfolio Archive Fund.”

In this time of necessary societal transformation, we recognize that Hand Papermaking has a responsibility to acknowledge to ourselves and to our community that we have been operating within a culture that perpetuates social inequities. Among a number of initiatives to repair and correct, Hand Papermaking established the Black Writers Fellowship program in the summer of 2020 to support Black writers through a monetary award, mentorship with the Hand Papermaking editor and professionals in the field, and publication of their research.
Donate today to support this important program in solidarity with the movement for Black lives. All donations are tax-deductible, and will be acknowledged in writing and in our publications.
