The 2018 Year-End Broadside project reveals the truly collaborative nature of handmade paper as the result of an aesthetic exchange between three exemplary artists and one celebrated contemporary poet. The featured poem, “Nov. 19th (Revised March 26th),” is a sonnet by award-winning, New York–based poet and translator Eléna Rivera from her recent book Scaffolding (Princeton University Press, 2016). Papermaker Nicole Donnelly produced the variable edition of pulp-painted, abaca-cotton-linen paper at her Philadelphia-based studio paperTHINKtank. Master printer Celene Aubry added the text using historic hand-set type at Hatch Show Print in Nashville. The entire project was ably art-directed by board member Alta Price. The full edition of 100 signed and numbered copies, completed in October 2018, is our thank-you gift to supporters who contribute to our 2018 Year-End fundraising campaign.
